meet our trauma therapists

Zoe Cohen, LCSW

Therapist

My therapy philosophy…
Therapy can be comforting, challenging, transformative—and yes, even enjoyable. With the right therapist, it can be a life-changing process.

I know how hard it can be to show up consistently and do the work. My role is to guide and support you through that journey, with warmth, honesty, and care.

My style…
I’m a compassionate, engaged therapist with a pragmatic, humanistic approach. I draw primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), integrating other modalities—including psychodynamic techniques—when they’re a good fit.

My style balances validation and exploration with gentle challenge. I help clients make sense of their experiences, shift unhelpful patterns, and build strength and resilience over time.

My most important credentials and successes…
I earned my Master of Social Work from Yeshiva University and am licensed in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. I’ve worked in multiple respected eating disorder treatment programs and have experience treating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional dysregulation.

I’m trained in CBT, DBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I completed NYU’s Advanced CBT Training and am trained in Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT). I also received advanced DBT training from Behavioral Tech, the premier training institute for Dialectical Behavior Therapy. These evidence-based approaches allow me to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals—including trauma recovery.

Fun facts about me…
I’m a big animal lover and volunteer with my therapy-trained dog on weekends.
I find grocery shopping strangely delightful.
I love interior design and hunting for hidden gems.
Yoga is my favorite form of mindful movement.
