Ruth Dabah, LCSW
Therapist
My therapy philosophy…
I believe therapy begins with feeling truly heard and understood. A compassionate, supportive environment is the foundation for meaningful change—and that’s what I strive to create in every session.
I see therapy as a collaborative process. Together, we’ll explore the changes you want to make and build a plan that honors your strengths, challenges, and goals. I view every struggle as part of the journey—not a step backward, but a bump in the road we’re meant to move through.
My style…
My style is warm, patient, and non-judgmental. I tailor therapy to your pace and needs, and I believe in building a strong, trusting relationship where you feel safe to explore and grow.
I integrate evidence-based treatments including EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), CBT-E, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Whether we’re working through past trauma, navigating present stressors, or building new skills, I aim to help you feel empowered and supported every step of the way.
My most important credentials and successes…
I’ve completed specialized training in EMDR, TF-CBT, and CBT-E, including advanced training at Oxford—where CBT-E was developed and is considered the gold standard for eating disorder treatment. I’ve also completed a 20-hour experiential training in Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Earlier in my career, I worked at The Jewish Board, where I provided therapy to a wide range of clients and led groups for teens navigating social and relational challenges. These experiences, combined with my commitment to ongoing training, have shaped me into a responsive, trauma-informed therapist.
Fun facts about me…
Before becoming a therapist, I ran my own baking business.
I once took a solo trip to the Grand Canyon—just me and a great book.
I love to cook and host dinners for friends and family.
And though I may look like I have it all together, I’m still a work in progress—just like everyone else.
